Aptitude

Aptitude is a measure of one's raw untrained potential. Aptitude scores normally range from one to six, however it is possible to have scores as low as zero or more than six. Zero scores are most commonly seen with regard to Power and Influence. Scores that are higher than six are very rare and considered to be super human.

Strength

One's ability to exert force on physical objects using muscles. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. a five year old child
  2. a large pre-pubescent child or small woman
  3. an average human
  4. a physically fit human
  5. an athlete or gymnast
  6. a strong-man or similar strength specialist

Agility

One's ability to change the body's position efficiently, and requires the integration of isolated movement skills using a combination of balance, coordination, speed, reflexes, strength, endurance and stamina. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. significantly impaired, possibly not able to walk unaided
  2. very clumsy, likely to stumble a lot
  3. an average human
  4. a marksman or hunter
  5. a master locksmith who can just about pick any lock made
  6. a high wire acrobat

Discipline

The ability to compel oneself to systematic instruction in order to train in a craft or trade, or to follow a particular code of conduct or "order". This can additionally be understood as a measure of mental grit or willpower. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. no self control at all, no thought for consequences at all
  2. you can't be left alone with sweets, but you do manage to hold down a job
  3. an average human
  4. a martial artist at the top of their profession
  5. a virtuoso who practices almost all the time to achieve phenomenal levels of skill
  6. almost able to move things through willpower alone, a master of mental calm

Wits

One's wits are one's intellectual powers of all types. To have one's wits about one is to be alert and capable of quick reasoning. To be at the end of one's wits is to be immensely frustrated. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. a very clever dog, a very stupid human
  2. not the brightest button in the box, but you cope without trouble in modern life
  3. an average human
  4. an accomplished academic
  5. a noted genius
  6. one of the most amazing minds of your age, Einstein, Hawking etc

Instinct

Instinct is the inherent inclination to a particular pattern of behaviour. Instinctive behaviour comes without thought. Instinct is deep primal knowledge coded into one's DNA about how to react in given circumstances. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. little to no instincts, fairly unaware of how to respond without careful thought
  2. not in tune with your instincts except in the very obvious cases (afraid of the dark/spiders etc)
  3. an average human
  4. good instincts, you'd make a good goalie
  5. shrewd venture capitalist, you trust your gut often and it rarely lets you down
  6. Almost unbelievably in tune with the world, blind folded bullet dodging... why not

Charisma

Compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion and cooperation in others. Charisma is also deeply associated with mood, morose people have low charisma likewise the charismatic tend to laugh easily and not be effected by the darker side of life. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. you're a royal P.I.T.A. you have no friends, frankly you're miserable with it
  2. dislikeable, you're not ever going to be a leader of men
  3. an average human, you have your ups and downs
  4. you're a nice girl/guy, people like you a lot
  5. you're a natural born leader, people look to you for direction
  6. you are supremely persuasive and charming, people will die to protect you

Power

A measure of one's super-natural power. Magical might, the amount of magical sway one has over your environment. Put simply this is how "big and meaty" your magic is. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. You get the odd premonition, perhaps a bit of dejavu
  2. inexplicable things happen around you, you often seem quite lucky to others
  3. you are consciously aware of your latent magical talent
  4. power burns within you, in moments of uncontrolled passion it spontaneously erupts
  5. you have great magical power, untrained you are a significant danger to others
  6. you are destined to become an arch mage if you make it past puberty with out blowing up the country

Influence

The complexity with which you can bring your power to bear. This is a measure of super-natural finesse. Magical accuracy and control are directly associated with influence. Examples of values for this score in the normal range are as follows:

  1. you clutch clumsily at your magical power, things almost always go wrong
  2. you have weak control over your magic, it often goes awry
  3. you have moderate control over your magic, it does not usually escape you
  4. you have significant control over your power and can direct it at will to do your bidding
  5. you have precise control over your power, you can use it to achieve tiny changes or massive effects without a hitch
  6. you have exquisite innate control over your power, you are the power
